The end of January is nigh. (Thankyouthankyouthankyou…)
I’ve been feeling extra motivated to change things lately (so many things!) and my blog fell into that line of sight. I can’t believe I actually sat down today, focused on it and finished it! I hope you enjoy the new look and feel.
I have been trying to be more of an organized person these days since I have so much happening! I am a big fan of everything having it’s place and I hope that this layout will make it easier to do so.
First on the news front! This actually happened a couple weeks ago, but B and I were down and out with the flu for 3 days recently so I was playing major catch up at work, and had to put some of my free time activities on the back burner. If you don’t follow me on Instagram or Facebook then this will be “new” news!
I received an email late on 1/9 from Adam Nutting of Hiking the Trail & Epic Social Adventures extending an invite to join their Adventurer team! I am pretty sure I was up all night in excitement. This means some great things are in store for Jenny the Trailhead; more adventures and more writing in 2018!
This second piece of information came as even more of a surprise; I filled out an application last year just for the heck of it, thinking they would be looking for thru-hikers, hardcore athletes and mountaineers. You can imagine the squeals that escaped me when I received an acceptance email saying I will be sponsored this year by Honey Stinger! Whatever they saw, they must have liked, and that just floors me. I try to keep my content genuine and stay true to myself and to why I do what I do. It means so much. This instills in me a greater desire to put 110% into my community, into my volunteer work and into hopefully inspiring more people to get outside. I am so grateful for this opportunity and so excited to do this brand proud!
Alone, it is an honor to be joining my pals at Epic Social and the (honey) icing on the cake was hearing back from Honey Stinger.
We had a fantastic Mountain Chicks meetup Saturday at Hawn State Park! The weather was beautiful and the company as usual, was great.
Pickle Creek is really such a beautiful hike. Hawn holds a different feel for me than other Missouri parks. I’m not sure what it is; but it feels ethereal. It’s slowly making it’s way up the ranks in becoming one of my favorite parks.
After our hike, everyone met at The Anvil Restaurant & Saloon in sweet little Sainte Genevieve, we had good food, some beer and I had to try one of their delicious onion rings!
Our Mountain Chicks crew has some great things coming up! As soon as Bailey and I set it in stone, we will share events on the Mountain Chicks Midwest Facebook page! Join us.
Everyone please enjoy your upcoming week and thank you for reading!
