My work schedule this morning was freed up unexpectedly so I have spent the last few hours planning some logistics, booking some campsites for our California roadtrip (…and organizing our Indiana Memorial Weekend adventure! More on that at a later date.)We’ll now officially be staying at Onion Valley for two days before we get on the Mt. Whitney Trail and I am so excited because we will get to access Kearsarge Pass as an acclimation hike! Go ahead and feast your eyeballs on that.
I talked to a super helpful gal at Boulder Creek RV Resort and found out we can park our camper for the week for $2 a day. This was fantastic to hear, because we will also be paying for the boys to be boarded somewhere for 3-5 days and the less we have to spend on camper storage the better! (PS. anyone know of any dog sitters or boarding in Inyo County…heh…)
I have been compulsively making lists the last few days. I have an LHX list (25 days away OMG!), a Mount Whitney list (actually 3 on that subject…gear, food, and camping/dog boarding accomodations!), a list for my trip this weekend, a list of things we need to get for the camper/keep in the camper, a list for things to do around the house…ohhhh I could go on.
I feel so complete when I check something off of a list!
Anywho – I am trying to keep my Whitney journal updated as the planning progresses. It’s starting to get a little more real as I make these reservations and speak to locals that are able to point me in the right direction. We are still planning on attempting the JMT next summer as well so I feel like this is good practice! Oh my.
Of all the addictions in the world…why does mine have to be hiking and traveling? It can become so detailed and strenuous, lol.
The heart wants what the heart wants!

Hey Jen, You could check out this website to see if they list any sitters / boarding places in the area you need https://www.bringfido.com/resource/doggie_daycare_boarding/

I love this! I’m also a big list maker, I love the feeling of crossing something off a list.
